Discharge is usually the goal you’re trying to achieve in your bankruptcy. The discharge is the Bankruptcy Court declaring that you no longer own some or all of your debts. The discharge effects all debts, listed in your bankruptcy or not, that existed at the time of filing.
The best part of the discharge is if someone violates it, you can sue for damages.
