Can I file if I don’t have a SSN

Some immigrant to the US who aren’t citizens or don’t have green cards still get into debt and need our help. So how do you file when you don’t have a social security number?

The bankruptcy code doesn’t require you to be a citizen of the United States or a permanent resident. All it mandates is you have debt and you live or have property in the United States. If you don’t have a SSN, you can use a ITIN or a FEIN to file. If you have been using a SSN that isn’t yours, it may cost you problems.
